Using national research and data, PaperShaker has predicted that this Spring day will see the UK’s most proposals for the year, ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend. By announcing the date a few months in advance, PaperShaker is providing the future bridezillas – and groomzillas alike – of 2015 with a head-start to get their wedding diaries ready and reservations made for the big day.

Before they even say yes, or get sight of the sparkle, PaperShaker expects to see women across the country checking their future fiancés diaries for ‘special reservations’ on the 2nd of April and no doubt booking in that all-important manicure for the occasion.

Angela Crouch, Commercial Director at PaperShaker, said: “The day you’re proposed to is one of the most special moments in a person’s life. Everyone loves a surprise, but sometimes knowing what to expect on the day is even better. Having enough time to prepare for a wedding is very important and getting invites out early to secure your summer wedding season date is equally key. With a few months extra planning, brides and grooms now have the time they need to organise their perfect day.

To predict Thursday 2nd April as 2015’s proposal day, PaperShaker collated the Office for National Statistics and Vashi.com. Taking the most popular day to get married – the first Saturday of August – and the average engagement time of 16 months as well as the start of a long bank holiday weekend, PaperShaker predicts special announcements at the beginning of April this year, and we can’t wait!
