Being huge fans of the classical English summer holiday destination, Vikki and Matt chose an amazing vintage seaside wedding theme in Scarborough for their big day.
Vikki bought her heavenly, original 1930s gown from Elizabeth Avey’s vintage bridal boutique. The older bridesmaids wore full-length dresses from Coast. The younger girls had vintage teal dresses from BHS.
All Vikki’s jewellery was vintage, in keeping with her classical dress. Her friend Jessica, who is a talented milliner, created her bespoke hair piece.
We wanted a classically English, vintage seaside wedding theme, with a touch of vintage kookiness…
Matt designed the art deco-style stationery, including the personal order of services, inspired by old comics he read as a child.
Sandra Moore baked and decorated the couple’s seaside-themed wedding cake. We love the seagull topper!
I couldn’t imagine foxier and lovelier bridesmaids to share my big day with!
The wedding breakfast was fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas. The chef also created a special vegetarian version for the bride – battered halloumi with a potato rosti underneath. Take home treats included clam shell bottle stoppers from Favour Haven and shell candles from A Wedding Less Ordinary.
Matt’s parents made their wedding post box in the shape of a Scarborough beach hut, and each table was decorated with a bucket and spade, and a seaside themed postcard ranging from 1906 to the 1980s
