The proposal
“Our first date was 13th February, because we didn’t want to go out on Valentine’s Day!” remembers Nicola.
“We had been getting ready to go out for dinner on our second anniversary, and just as we were about to leave, Scott dropped down on one knee and popped the question. I was completely not expecting it! We were planning a holiday to Thailand the following month and I (along with everyone else) assumed he would do it then. I guess he didn’t want to be predictable,” she laughs
The bride’s outfit
“I bought my gown from Angelica Bridal, it was made from Silk Radzmir, which is a fine, soft silk with a matte finish. The designer was Priscilla of Boston and I knew it was the one for me as I was so reluctant to take it off! I also really loved peach wedding theme perfectly! My Freya Rose shoes – the process of buying is so unique, you get a really personal service,” adds Nicola
The groom’s outfit
“Scott wore the Royal Ascot morning suit hired from Moss Bros,” remembers Nicola. “He looked very handsome,” she beams
“We had been getting ready to go out for dinner on our second anniversary, and just as we were about to leave, Scott dropped down on one knee and popped the question. I was completely not expecting it!”
The bridesmaids
“I had just one bridesmaid, my friend Catherine, who I’ve known for over 20 years,” explains Nicola. “She wore a full-length, strapless dress designed by Dessy – the colour was called ‘Firecracker’ and it really suited her complexion and skin tone, s well as our peach wedding theme,” she adds
The ceremony
“We had our ceremony in a little wooden summer house overlooking the gardens at South Farm,” says Nicola. “We had the one day of sunny weather, amid a week full of torrential rain! After the ceremony, we went for a drive in a traditional Thai Tuk Tuk that had been flown in specially for us. It was a real surprise for all our guests,” adds Nicola
The flowers
“We used flower displays for all our decorating. Our florist Wild Wood Floral Events sourced the most beautiful roses to match my peach wedding theme – they were called Miss Piggy roses with apricot-coloured leaves and a coral colour in the middle,” says Nicola
The reception
“We held the party in the main barn – the food was so good. The farm has its own organic vegetable garden. We are both big foodies, so it was truly perfect for us. We hired a band Happy Hour who let Scott have a go on their drum kit, while his friend was belting out Living on a Prayer!” laughs Nicola
The honeymoon
Was a week in the Seychelles, followed by another week at The One and Only Resort at The Palm in Dubai. Amazing!
