Brides-to-be and a host of luxury suppliers were bought together in London last night for the first-ever Wedding Ideas Reader Evening. This exclusive event was hosted at the five-star Royal Horseguards Hotel and One Whitehall Place in London, overlooking the magical Eye and the River Thames.
30 lucky brides-to-be were selected from our Facebook and Twitter followers and were treated, along with their guests, to an evening of Champagne and canapés, one-to-one expert consultations, mini nail and lash makeovers and much, much more.
“This event enables us meet some of our wonderful readers and give them an interactive experience that will really help with their planning,” says Wedding Ideas founder Rachel Southwood. “It also gives them the chance to see and test our amazing new website which launches on 1st June.”
One of the highlights of the evening was an interactive lesson on how to pose in wedding pictures from top bridal coach Michele Paradise. “No matter what size of shape you are, Michele had some great tips on how to look tall and slim in your photos,” says Editor Rachel Morgan. “The girls really enjoyed learning about how to position their feet and hold their bouquets. Some of the grooms even joined in, too!”
Top bridal accessory designer Olivier Laudus was also on hand during the evening to give advice on jewellery, hairstyles and more.
Then it was on to the raffle to win top prizes including a beautiful bouquet from Blue Sky Flowers, afternoon tea at The Royal Horseguards Hotel and a photoshoot from FYEO worth £199!
“The Reader Event was amazing last night,” says bride-to-be Maria. “It was great to be able to speak with the Wedding Ideas editorial team, to see the new website, and to actually spend some proper time talking to suppliers! I was delighted to win the 6 month subscription to the magazine in the raffle, too!”
And it didn’t stop there… just before leaving, each b2b and their guest received a goodie bag packed with over £100 worth of gifts inside including favours from Millie’s Cookie’s, hair products from Ogario, luxury silk shawls from Wonderroom London and personalised tags from The Finer Details.
