Following on from the success of last week’s gorgeous engagement shoot we’re following it up with another cracker!

This one features the very beautiful Mr and Mrs Baldwin-to-be, who had their engagement shoot one sunny, autumn afternoon in Lloyd Park, Walthamstow.

But first, let’s get to know the couple…

How they met

“We met through an online dating site and I knew from the first message he sent me that there was something special about him. After a month of sending messages to each other, we finally met and it felt like we had known each other for ages. Our first date was on a Saturday afternoon in September (2010),” says Claire.

“We arranged to meet at the John Soane’s museum in London, which is one of my favourite museums. He was living in Leicester at the time and came down to London to meet me. I am always early for everything and so decided to get there about half an hour before we were due to meet, so I could check my make-up and change into some new shoes I was saving for our date. As I discovered later he is also always early for everything, too, and he ended up getting in the same tube carriage as me. I recognised him immediately from his photo and really surprised him when I went over to his seat and said hello (and I never got to change into my new shoes),” smiles Clare.

The Proposal

“Greg proposed at the top of the clock tower in St Albans, where he grew up. We got to the top and he distracted me by pointing out some landmarks. When I turned around he was on one knee,” she adds.

The engagement shoot

“We had our engagement shoot in Lloyd Park in Walthamstow on a lovely autumn afternoon. We live nearby and love the park, so it seemed like the perfect place. We didn’t have a theme or story we just wanted it to be relaxed – although I did buy a new dress for the occasion. I also wore the shoes that I never got to wear on our first date,” remembers Clare.

“We decided to have the engagement shoot so that we could feel a bit more relaxed in front of the camera on our wedding day. I am always a bit nervous when having my photo taken, and at the start I felt quite shy and self conscious. Alexa (our photographer) was great and kept it fun and relaxed, by the end I was actually enjoying it. We absolutely loved all the photos, too. I would definitely recommend it to other couples because I know I won’t be so self conscious on the wedding day, and will feel much more comfortable having my photo taken.”

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photographs and excellent advice with our readers, Clare and Greg! We wish you the very best of luck!
