Emily and Callum had been together eight years when he got down on one knee, in a little log cabin on a weekend break – with a trip to Alton Towers squeezed in! Callum had already been to ask permission from Emily’s parents and the ring was burning a hole in his pocket!
We love a bright and colourful wedding, and this one was truly glorious – rainbow and bright blue flowers, bridesmaids and so many brilliant details. Friends and family played a big part in the styling and entertainment on the day, including the flowers and the band, J.E.M., which bridesmaid Jemma is a member of.
As Emily walked down the aisle towards the summerhouse, she was sinking into the ground in her heels, which made everyone laugh and set the tone for magical, super- happy day. Even the first dance was Happy by Pharell Williams, which the couple invited all of their guests to dance to with them.
Rainbow brights was the recurring theme, including details like bright suede shoes, bouquets, personalised M&Ms, cascading sugar flowers on the cake and flower garlands for the flowergirls. Emily had six bridesmaids including three of her best friends and her sister-in-law. It had been raining for days before the wedding, but luckily the sun shone as Emily and Callum exchanged their vows at Horsted Place Hotel. As they signed the register, the couple reflected on the events, which was wonderful.
Chair covers and sashes were from Pollen 4 Hire – blue sashes for the ceremony and ivory lace for the reception. Craft numbers from Hobbycraft were used as table numbers and E&C letters were spray painted and used for the cake table. Friend Nikki made bunting for the summerhouse, and bunting for the reception came from Funky Frills UK. The speeches were a particular highlight, with Emily’s father taking his particularly seriously – writing it up until midnight the night before.
