A vintage pastel wedding day with just a sprinkling of Elvis – these two lovebirds are big fans!
How they met
“Well, I fancied the pants off him, so I pinched his bum to get his attention,” laughs Danielle. “When we first got together, I thought Marc was lying to me about being a massive Elvis fan, too. I never would have thought that it would have been a big part of the proposal, and our wedding day!”
Marc asked his girl to marry him outside the gates of Graceland in Memphis on New Year’s Eve. “I was totally surprised, I couldn’t believe he’d bought the ring with him in his suitcase – apparently he was terrified I’d see it when he got called over by immigration at Chicago airport during a visa mix up!” remembers Danielle.
The bride’s outfit
Danielle’s luscious ruffle number – ‘Eresma’ by San Patrick – featured a sweetheart neckline, fishtail skirt and lace and sequin detailing on the bodice. “I couldn’t stop smiling,” remembers Danielle. “It was a massive relief, too. I was starting to think that I would never find ‘the one’ after trying on over 60 styles!”
The groom’s outfit
Marc had been looking everywhere for a 70s-inspired suit, and found his super-cool outfit from Next. “He looked so handsome and dapper, he pulled off the blue very well,” smiles Danielle.
Danielle was accompanied down the aisle by her three adult bridesmaids – her sister Anna, best friend, Kathryn and Marc’s sister. They were joined by two adorable little flowergirls. The older girls wore dresses from Fever Designs, and the little ones looked fab in Next.
The couple had a civil service at Rhos Y Gilwen. Danielle’s dad Ken walked her down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s Hawaiian Wedding Song, and Marc’s mum read a poem called Love by Roy Croft.
“My mum made the bunting to decorate the venue, along with some baby blue paper chains to match Marc’s suit! We included a table of family wedding photographs (including Elvis and Priscilla’s – it had to be done!) and finally, instead of a traditional guest book, we asked everyone to sign luggage tags, which we attached to a line of ribbon,” recalls Danielle.
Danielle and Marc had a romantic getaway to Victorian mansion Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire.
