Once you and your guests have settled into your cottages, the Cart Shed awaits your arrival, where you have the option to indulge in an intimate gourmet meal on the eve of your wedding.

The Cart Shed is a beautiful area of the barn that has original oak beams supplemented by mood lighting, to create the most romantically rustic vibe. The Turnbull Bar, which adjoins the Cart Shed, will be fully stocked, staffed and ready to kick-start your pre-wedding celebrations.

And once you’ve enjoyed your meal, head to the Forge where this cosy little hideaway will make for a perfect base to kick back, reflect and relax ahead of your big day.

On your wedding day at Doxford Barns

Your big day has arrived! The Morning Room and Hayloft Bridal Suite at Doxford Barns both offer calming spaces, flooded with natural light for brides or grooms to prepare ahead of the ceremony. This is where you can really start to indulge in chocolate-dipped strawberries and freshly baked pastries while enjoying a bottle of bubbly!

The Threshing Hall – the most beautiful 18th century barn ceremony hall – is filled with original features, and accessorised with festoon lighting to create the most romantic ambience for up to 180 of your guests. Once it’s all official, it’s time to celebrate!

After the ceremony

You and your guests will be led back through to The Cart Shed, where your drink reception and canapés will be ready and waiting. The team at Doxford Barns want you to enjoy this time with your family and friends, which is why they keep a few canapés in the kitchen for their couples to enjoy when they get the time!

If the sun is shining, your guests can always mingle in the pretty Courtyard and make use of their bespoke outdoor bar.

It’s really important to make time for just the two of you on your big day, so to help facilitate this, the team at Doxford Barns will offer to take you across their private country estate, including a trip to Doxford Lake with your photographer to get those all-important couple’s shots. In the meantime, your wedding team will make sure everyone else is well looked after back at the Barns.

The master of ceremonies will announce for your guests to take their seats in The Great Barn, as you return from your first romantic moments spent together as a married couple.

You’ll enter to an uproar of applause from your guests, all seated under a canopy of oak beams, festoon lights and decorative hops overlooking the surrounding farm-scape. Next up, the speeches, which are guaranteed to draw laughter and tears of joy from each and every table, before you move on to the wedding breakfast.

The incredible team of in-house chefs at Doxford Barns will work their magic to ensure your food exceeds expectations of the highest culinary order.

They’re renowned for serving the finest, locally sourced British produce paired with exquisite wines, which will be poured by the wonderful front-of-house team, who will be there throughout the day to ensure you and your guests have the most magical wedding experience.

Your evening reception

After the wedding breakfast, The Great Barn transforms into the most magical stage, which offers your guests front-row seats of the cake-cutting and your first dance.

Your celebrations will then continue long into the night! If guests need a small break from dancing, the courtyard at Doxford Barns offers an incredible festoon-lit space to sip champagne beneath the stars, or to gather beside fire pits on the front lawn, which makes for a perfect occasion to toast marshmallows.
