If you like bright wedding themes, you’ll love this brilliant styled shoot from some of Berkshire’s top wedding suppliers – it’s chock full of inspiration…
The shoot itself took place at the gorgeous South Hill Park and was organised by a host of Berkshire wedding suppliers (you can find out all about them at The Wedding Gateway). We’ll hand over to the lovely Jo from Tea and Doilies who was in charge of the styling and stationery on the day to explain how it all came together…
“A few months back I got the opportunity to work with some other fantastic, local wedding suppliers and I now have the chance to share the amazingness that we created with you all! The inspiration for this shoot was to create an alternative stylised shoot compared to the vintage weddings that have been the main focus in recent years.
“The group’s vision was one of citrus and vibrant colours to give modern brides an alternative colour scheme and one of which could be easily created. From the entwined ribbon on the table, to the geometric stationery, the modern edgy floral arrangements to the popping candy bridesmaid dresses and fresh contemporary photography, we aimed to capture a new vibrant style that would offer a fun alternative for the wedding day and show vibrant personalities.
“Another unique aspect of the shoot was the introduction of a curvier bride. Through our research we felt there was a distinct lack of shoots featuring brides over size 12, hence we featured Amy wearing a gorgeous Callista wedding dress supplied by top boutique Borrowed Blue & Lace.
“Kate Edwards from Kate Edwards Freelance Hair styled all of our models for the shoot. She created some stunning styles that complemented our styling beautifully with a mixture of up and down dos. Erin Bell from Erin Bell Beauty did all the make-up on the day. She created a natural, yet flawless look on all the girls.
“We were inspired by the film ‘Up’ and we have fallen in love with big balloons, which can be used in so many ways throughout your wedding. Sinitta from Sophisticated Style did a great job and helped us make our idea into a reality.
“Kate from Funky Flowers made all the fabulous bridal bouquets. Crafting them out of wire and glue, she included some extremely interesting floral choices to create texture and depth. On our reception table, Kate worked with our brief of bright, vibrant and citrus colours and used white square containers as a base. She used a real mix of flowers and foliage, including lots of succulents. With coloured sticks she then gave height to the arrangements and weaved in and out of the design to mirror the patterns on the table.
“Tea and Doilies created the reception table. Using citrus coloured ribbons we weaved them to produce a table runner and place settings for each guest. We also designed the drinks station, with coloured wine glasses, multi-coloured sugar topped Champagne glasses and stripy straws.
“Our stationery featured bold and geometric patterns, such as zig zags, stripes and dots, I wanted it to complement the day as well as be fun and interesting. No wedding day would be complete without a show-stopping cake. The truly fabulous Nell from The Papercup Kitchen worked with our bold geometric shapes and bright citrus colours to create this stunning wedding cake. Topped with flowers by Funky Flowers, this four-tier design alternates between smooth layers and textured layers to add interest and depth.
“And finally, Steph from Summers Photography worked so so hard before, during and after the shoot to capture our design brief. From what started as a little design seed in her head, she was able to translate into the most stunning shoot. With well over 1,000 photos shot on the day, Steph truly encapsulated our Bright and Vibrant Shoot with absolutely stunning photography.
