Having spent over 25 years in the wedding industry, some might say that the winner of this year’s Best Newcomer award isn’t that much of a newcomer!
After running the family boutique in Chester for many years, Diane Harbridge worked at some of the country’s biggest bridal manufacturers before deciding it was time to go it alone.
By the end of her first trade fair, she had 45 bridal retailers wanting to stock her unique wedding dress collection – a testament to the hard work of her small yet enthusiastic team and her complete understanding of how real brides want to look.
Even though I’ve worked in the bridal industry for 25 years, it’s so nice to be recognised as a designer in my own right, the first year of business is challenging for any company, so I’m over the moon to have won this award.
Her bridal collection boasts traditional English craftsmanship, using beautiful vintage laces and antique beading techniques. And this collection is now expanding even further with the new Boutique Collection and the bridesmaid collection, Very Lydia.
Wedding Ideas introduced this new award for 2013 to recognise the hard work of a new business that has made a major impact on the industry over the last 12 months. The winner was chosen by the Wedding Ideas team itself.
