Brides-to-be dreaming of a fairytale wedding are being invited to a special Wedding Fayre at Blackfriars in Newcastle on Sunday February 23 to find out how to make it a reality.
The ornate Banquet Hall at Blackfriars offers a dramatic and magical backdrop for intimate wedding ceremonies or receptions with its authentic banners, chandeliers, stained glass windows and furnishing enjoyed by kings and nobles including King Edward III in medieval times.
Although based in the centre of Newcastle, guests can also enjoy the picturesque enclosed garden area for pre-reception Champagne and canapés and wedding photos.
As well as the 50-seat Banquet Hall, guests also have the option of dining at Blackfriars Restaurant, which received the Taste of England accolade at the North East England Tourism Awards last year.
At the Wedding Fayre couples will gain plenty of inspiration from local companies on every aspect of a wedding from table decorations, entertainment, flowers, stationery, wedding cakes, jewellery and entertainment – there will also be a fabulous fashion show.
The event will take place from 12-4pm and admission is free. Visitors will also be treated to complimentary Champagne and canapés to sample the food on offer at Blackfriars. Couples wishing to register their interest should contact Lee McKinnell, wedding co-ordinator at Blackfriars at firstname.lastname@example.org or by ringing 0191 261 5945.
“We offer brides and grooms a truly unique setting in which to celebrate their big day in the heart of the city and we hope our Wedding Fayre will showcase all we have to offer,” says Andy Hook, owner of Blackfriars. “We have seen the number of weddings triple over the last couple of years and are delighted that this special venue is helping couples to achieve their fairytale weddings”.
