I first met Charlotte Mills at one of her very first major wedding exhibitions in 2014, as she launched her stunning debut collection. I am a self-confessed shoe addict (guilty as charged), and I have to say I was nothing short of smitten! Working alongside Helen from The Wedding Bazaar at Brides the Show, during our first outing as Blog and Tog (photographer), we were both significantly impressed with the collection.
Charlotte’s personal confidence and, of course, her beautiful and stylish stand, radiated the romantic, yet fun side of her brand. Alongside her traditional blue box colour was this wonderful quote brides were understandably both inspired and excited by this new and dynamic collection.
“I always wanted to be a shoe designer,” says Charlotte. “For as along as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for shoes. I couldn’t imagine designing anything else. It’s wonderful to be able to design something that someone will love, and want to wear on their wedding day to show a little bit of their personality. I find this really inspiring.”
Going from strength to strength, this unstoppable young entrepreneur has recently launched her next bridal collection, and is about to launch a ready-to-wear collection, as well as opening her first boutique. The boutique is located in the picturesque village of Uppermill in Saddleworth, where the designer also runs her studio. The ready to wear collection has been designed with the same unique, fun styling the Charlotte Mills brand has become renowned for.
Having graduated from the prestigious Cordwainers, Charlotte’s career started at a large fashion company as a design manager. Since the launch of Charlotte Mills, the rapid growth of the company means she now has more than 40 stockists in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Australia, USA, Canada and Japan. Alongside these retailers the brand has a very strong eCommerce presence with her own gorgeous online store.
This gorgeous shoe is named Alexis. Stunning it red, it’s a heart embroidered peep toe sling back with large structured bow. You can find further details here.
Such is her following of delighted customers; many of Charlotte’s past brides have loved their wedding shoes so much that they had already pre-ordered from both the new, and the ready-to-wear collection. The reasons for this, her brides have said, is due to the fashion-forward, unique love heart designs, gorgeous colours, and the outstanding quality and service Charlotte Mills provides. The response to everything across social media has been nothing short of amazing, and we are delighted for her.
One of my absolute favourites, this is Ana blue. It’s a point-toe court shoe with appliquéd heart and binding details. You can find further details here.
I have used Charlotte’s stunning shoes in a recent photo shoot. This is Anastasia, a T-bar closed toe sandal, with vintage deco heart designs. You can find details here.
