Clive and Vicki from Essex (married in September 2015) after having met the team at Buy Our Honeymoon at a wedding fair, decided to create their honeymoon fund account online with the company for their adventure to Disney World! Clive had originally proposed to Vicki at Disney World in Paris! – It made sense to go back…but this time to Florida! What did you do there?
“We wanted to make the most of a ‘once in a lifetime trip’. Whilst we were there we went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Kennedy Space Center, Seaworld, Legoland Florida, The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Aquaticia and also got the chance to have an Airboat Ride.”
“We got to experience some things that we could only dream of doing as kids: we met an astronaut, had photos taken with countless Disney and Universal characters, bought far too many souvenirs, rode some amazing roller coasters and even held a crocodile!”
What was your most romantic moment?
“To be truthful, for me sharing all these experiences with my new wife was a constant highlight. But the single standout romantic moment for me was the meal on our last night. We were on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort, in the California Grill, watching the fireworks in the park below looking back over the holiday.”
“Vicki’s moment was me “making” her dance in the Be Our Guest restaurant after our breakfast, This is her favourite Disney movie and the restaurant was an exact replica of the ballroom and castle from the film. It totally blew her away!”
It’s great for honeymoons because?
“We had fun for three weeks solid! We were like two unsupervised kids loose in Orlando with a Mustang! Whilst all the places we visited have given us some fantastic memories, we have to say that Disney world is great for honeymoons. They go more than the extra mile to make it as magical as possible, from the constant congratulations from staff when walking around all the parks to the extra interaction with the characters during the meet and greets. It’s a fun, romantic and magical place.”
“We were truly spoilt at the Contemporary Resort. We returned to our room one night to find Mickey Mouse chocolates in our room — which they had upgraded for us! They also booked us impossible-to-get dining reservations and we even got a free dessert!”

“The features that attracted us was that we could ask for anything from anywhere and any amount. So we could split the costs of expensive things like a hire car upgrade so that people could buy bits of it. We also knew what we had to spend, so we could plan our holiday and knew when we could afford to splash out on a fancy meal or character dinner. We were not tied to a particular shop or items.”
“We could also receive things from people who were unable to make the day as they knew they could send their gift in advance. Another advantage was the money went directly into our wedding account so it meant we could buy the theme park tickets in advance in a package deal and save money rather than buying them once we had arrived and having to worry about exchange money before we flew out, something that would have been difficult as we flew out the day after the wedding.”
Feedback from our guests was that the site was straightforward to use, many of the cards we received had the printed postcard from the website telling us what their gift was, and the notification emails gave us a nice surprise every few days when we were told what gifts had been ‘purchased’. The set up cost was very reasonable, and the small cost charged by the third party to transfer the funds was far outweighed by the hassle free set up.
