Firmly established as the biggest date in the wedding industry’s calendar, and the original and best respected consumer wedding awards, The British Wedding Awards 2017 was a glittering event, attracting the creme de la creme of wedding industry professionals and talent.
The British Wedding Awards are a celebration of all that is brilliant about the UK’s wedding industry – rewarding individuals and brands for their professionalism and expertise.
The uber glamorous Hurlingham Club – London’s oldest private members club – played host to the event, serving up a delicious three-course meal, during which the accolades were handed out between courses. There were 14 categories in total, including the coveted awards for Best Bridal Collection (Maggie Sottero) and Best British Bridal Designer (Jenny Packham) awards.
Best Newcomer is the award that can transform the businesses fortunes of the recipient. This year it was the turn of wedding planning website Bridebook, who turned up in force, and good cheer, to pick up the award which will set them on track for a ground-breaking second year in business.
Wedding Ideas is always delighted to partner up with The British Wedding Awards, and it was publisher Caroline Scott who introduced the event, before handing over to Peter Minney, a Fellow and Executive of the Guild of Professional Toastmasters.
After the awards ceremony drew to a close, guests could kick their heels off and take to the dance floor to celebrate with the live DJ hitting the decks, accompanied by a saxophonist and bongo drum player… Champagne owed well into the night, with the party coming to a close at just after midnight. A night to remember for guests and all involved in The British Wedding Awards 2017.
With huge thanks to everyone at Chelsea Magazines and Wedding Ideas, Couples Resorts, Coconut Bay, Maggie Sottero, Courtyard Bridal Boutique and The Hurlingham Club.
