British bridal designer Sassi Holford works with absolute attention to detail and an uncompromising eye for quality – and her new collection for 2014 is among her best yet!
Each season her collections are individual yet balanced, focussed yet inspiring – this was certainly the case when the collection was first launched to buyers and the media back in May. The new dresses define classic elegance, with their use of dramatic silhouettes and exquisite fabrics.
The design emphasis is on femininity for 2014 – for the bodice the key lines are the elegant portrait neckline and bustier detailing. Many of the gowns also offer coverage on the shoulders and arms as the trend away from strapless continues, especially for more traditional brides.
Silhouettes should be designed to make a statement – from an impressive ball gown to a flattering column skirt with fluted hem – and this collection certainly has an enviable range to choose from.
During the year, Sassi visits European fabric fairs and this season sees her working with a range of impressive textured fabrics in combination with soft, floating fabrics such as fine lace and embroidered tulle. She has even included some colour in the new year collection, as you can see in Matilda above.
The gowns are individually handmade in Somerset but chosen by brides all over the world. It is an amazing success story for this English designer with over 30 years of experience and who, in 2013, has won two major awards including Best Bridal Designer at the Wedding Ideas Awards!
