Eric & Sarah
We went to school together. Eric says I was his crush ever since elementary school, although we didn’t start dating until we both went to university.

How did the proposal happen?
Every year for our anniversary, we have dinner at Sofitel Philippines. On our ninth anniversary, he proposed there!
The dress
My wedding dress was custom made by Rich Fontanilla. It had a beautifully beaded bodice with intricate details and a sweetheart neckline. The back of the gown swept up in a wing shape, before flowing down into a rosette skirt that I had specifically requested. I cried! It fitted me perfectly.
The accessories
As my gown was so detailed, I chose simple nude Prada pumps to go with it.
The groom
Eric also had his outfit custom made, wearing a tuxedo by Francis Libiran. The colour looked perfect on him.
The bridesmaids
My four bridesmaids are friends from high school – they’ve seen Eric and I fall in love and our life together as a couple ever since. A local boutique custom made their ruched dresses in pink and grey – our favourite colours.
What was the best part of the ceremony?
We had a Catholic wedding and the message from the priest was very special. He told us to forget the bad memories and reminisce about the good, because those are the memories that will always be the most important.
What did you have for your wedding breakfast?
Our guests love banquets, so we chose a buffet style with the VIP guests served at their tables. Dishes included mushroom soup with truffle sauce, smoked salmon, Swiss air-dried beef, smoked chicken and mango, a prime rib roast, beef medallions, braised rack of lamb, pan-fried salmon, slow-cooked duck and jambalaya rice with tiramisu, praline cake, mango cheesecake and assorted fruit and pastries for dessert.

Inspiration
We had a pink spring blossom themed wedding.
Planning tips
We took two years to plan our wedding and it still didn’t always feel like long enough! Wedding Ideas kept me sane and seeing the beautiful weddings helped me to choose what was essential and what was an extra for us, so we got our dream wedding in budget and on time!
Reception decoration
A stylist took care of the venue decorations for us, arranging the abundance of table flowers, the blossom backdrop and dressing the room.
The flowers
Our bouquets were supplied by Vatel Manila while our stylist provided the reception flowers.
The cake
We chose a five-tier square cake made by Sheryberry Sweets which included blossom decorations to match our theme.
The honeymoon
We took three honeymoons to Dubai, the Maldives and then to Europe. We did a lot of sight-seeing with a laid-back approach, taking our time and immersing ourselves in each city’s culture.
Memorable moments
Walking down the aisle and kissing on our way out of the church felt fantastic! It was also lovely to see our guests having fun all the way to the end of the night. Their love and support meant a lot to us.
Best ideas
Don’t rely solely on what you see on the internet – your wedding should reflect you as a couple and your personalities! Talk to each other throughout the planning so you can sort out any uncertainties and create the wedding you both want. Support each other and you’ll have a beautiful and unforgettable wedding.
