Within the real weddings section, I see lots of different bridal hairstyles, each one unique and special for that particular bride.
Whether you’re getting married yourself, being a bridesmaid, or simply the guest of honour at the wedding of the year, I’ve put together a gallery of the best bridal hairstyles. From chic and sleek up-dos to bohemian down-dos, there’s something here for everyone.
Some of you bridal lovelies are guaranteed to be a whiz with the rollers, or a dab hand with the straighteners and will be doing your own bridal hairstyles for you and the bridal party. However, there’s bound to be an equal amount of girls out there who would much rather leave their locks in the hands of the professionals.
The ‘Chelsea’ Blow Dry
At the moment the pro blow dry is really having a moment. Think Kate Middleton attending a charity gala or Kim Sears watching her beau Andy Murray play on centre court. Both have gorgeous tumbling curls, with shine and volume, but they never look over done. I’m predicting big things for this perfectly coiffed look amongst the wedding world – the perfect bridal hairstyle for an English country garden inspired day.
Alternatively for red carpet glamour look no further than one of our all-time-favourite real brides Roberta. (Below) She oozes old hollywood style with pin curls to rival the queen of sophistication; Grace Kelly.
Half up, half Down
Another favourite with our real brides is the half up, half down do. It’s simple with a hint of sexiness, and the curls give your hair body and volume to keep flatness at bay all day long. A fabulous bridal hairstyle for all venues.
For a fuss-free marquee wedding, french plaits look beautiful on bohemian brides. Alternatively they look wonderful as a matching hairstyle for your bridesmaids. Mastering the art of plaiting can be tricky if you want to attempt it yourself – I found this cute little tutorial below that might be helpful!
We also get a lot of requests for styling advice for brides with short hair. When it comes to bridal hairstyles for this length I would suggest that you don’t stray too far from your normal day-t0-day look, but jazz it up with some breathtaking accessories. A firm favourite for real brides is Flo and Percy. Not to mention Una Healy wore the Wilderness Forehead Band by Flo and Percy for her wedding day, so you can get a celebrity look in an instant with one of their pieces.
