The proposal

What started out as a bit of a nightmare for Holly, soon turned in to the best day of her life. “Billy took me for a flying experience morning – which immediately started me panicking because I have a real fear of flying,” explains Holly. “We were up in the air, me clutching on to a sick bag, feeling very nervous. Just as my nerves began to settle, I reached into my bag to take out my camera, but I dropped it and it broke. Billy got cross then, and shouted at me, which made me cry, because I was already feeling quite on edge. He soon said sorry though and we were holding hands again. Just as we flew over Buckingham Palace, Billy started to undo his seat belt – and then he dropped to one knee! I was in total shock – and couldn’t wait to get back on the ground!” she adds

The bride’s outfit

Holly wore an Alfred Angelo gown with a low, v-back, and a sweetheart neckline. The bottom was ruched and decorated with stunning sparkly crystals, which fell into a long train and a bubble hem

William hired his grey three-piece tail suit from Foxy’s – a shop in the couple’s home town. He completed the look with a bright white cravat

The bridesmaids

“Because we were getting married in the summer, I didn’t want my girls to feel too hot and uncomfortable,” explains Holly. “They wore flowing maxi dresses from coast-stores.com in a Cadbury purple colour,” she adds

The ceremony

“St Andrew’s Church in Hornchurch was really the only choice for us,” recalls Holly. “When we first started dating, we would sit in Billy’s parents’ house and listen to the church bells ring. My parents and Billy’s parents also married there! We have since bought a house close to the church, and whenever we hear the bells, we are reminded of our special day,” smiles Holly

The decor

Floral displays were provided by Divine Occasions. “We wanted our marquee to look amazing, and worked very hard the week before the wedding to make sure everything was perfect. We had purple drapes around the edges of the marquee with a huge black and white dance floor at the back. We also had a beautiful walkway to make our entrance in style!”

The honeymoon

Was a breathtaking break to Lilly Beach in the Maldives.
