We love the vintage touches and pretty pinks in Natalie and David’s special day. Decorating the venue with bunting, birdcages and flowers helped to create the perfect vintage wedding…
The proposal
Natalie never thought she would meet her future husband through work. “I began to love everything about David very quickly, and we came inseperable,” says Natalie. “He proposed on Valentine’s Day and I was so shocked I nearly forgot to say yes!”
The bride’s outfit
Natalie found her dream Rosetta Nicolini gown in Berketex Bride in Nottingham. The dress featured a satin bodice with chiffon overlay skirt detailed with lace and sparkles. “I knew straight away that I would walk down the aisle in this dress,” says Natalie. She accessorised her look with a bespoke vintage-style feather headband, an ivory trimmed veil and elegant satin peep toe shoes.
The groom’s outfit
David wore a charcoal Prince Edward jacket and matching trousers with an olive cravat and handkerchief and an ivory waistcoat hired from Slaters Menswear. “He looked so handsome, and I felt so proud that I was going to be marrying him,” smiles Natalie.
The bridesmaids
Natalie had her two nieces and best friend’s daughter as her bridesmaids. Evie and Olivia wore ivory vintage-style dresses with a rose pink sash and bow, while Eli had a full length rose pink dress, all of which were bought from Karol Anna Bridalwear.
The ceremony
Natalie’s mum walked her down the aisle and the religious ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Clifton Village included readings from Corinthians 13. “Within my bouquet I attached a locket with my dad’s photo in amongst the flowers. I really felt that I needed him to be party of my special day,” says Natalie.
The reception
This couple embraced a vintage theme for their ceremony at The Country Cottage Hotel. They decorated the beams with bunting, homemade birdcages and flowers. “We served afternoon tea on vintage crockery collected from charity shops and homemade three tier cake stands. The menu included a selection of sandwiches, pastries, savoury snacks, cream cakes, tea loaves, Battenbergs and fresh strawberries,” says Natalie. “My mum also made a very touching speech, which included a quote from Bob Marley and brought a tear to many eyes.”
The honeymoon
The couple waited until November for their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic to combine it with Natalie’s birthday. They spent the time relaxing and enjoyed horseriding as well as visiting Los Haitses National Park.
