The proposal

“Al had been planning the engagement for months, he’d even designed the ring,” explains Georgie. “It actually happened while we were enjoying a weekend away in London. It was a nice sunny day so we decided to go for a walk down by the Thames. Al calmly said, ‘Will you marry me?’ and I burst into tears,” smiles Georgie

“I bought my dress from Confetti Bridal Wear in Tring, Hertfordshire. As a little girl growing up I used to walk by this shop every day, little did I know that 20 years later I would find my dream wedding gown there,” says Georgie. “I can’t describe the feeling, my La Sposa gown was so perfect. I spent the next nine months leading up to my real wedding counting down the days until I could wear it,” adds Georgie

The groom’s outfit

Super-stylish Al had a very clear idea of how he wanted to look so he chose to hire the boys’ outfits from Formality Formal Wear. “I knew he would look amazing, but words can’t describe the feeling of seeing him at the altar. It was very emotional.”

The bridesmaids

Georgie’s two best girls wore dreamy knee length dresses in a patina green, they fitted in perfectly with the vintage romance theme. The dresses were also from Confetti Bridalwear

“I knew Al would look amazing, but words can’t describe the feeling of seeing him at the altar”

The ceremony

Georgie always knew that she wanted to marry in the parish church where she grew up. Their intimate ceremony featured a mixture of readings and hymns

The flowers

“I knew exactly how I wanted my bouquet to look – closed pink peonies and pink amnesia roses to fit perfectly with our vintage look,” explains Georgie. The table centres were glass vintage cake stands hired from My Vintage Party with sage green and cream hydrangeas

The cake

“We wanted three square tiers with plain white icing, and the flavour of the sponges to be different. In the end we picked fruit, chocolate and lemon. Each tier was decorated with amnesia roses, the same as in my bouquet,” recalls Georgie

The music

Saxophonist Frank Abrams had guests dancing all night long

The honeymoon
