How they met
“Owen and I met over 10 years ago in Bournemouth. We were both out clubbing at the university bar. I knew pretty quickly I had met someone who was going to be significant in my life. I fell in love with him so quickly. He was so lovable!” smiles Lucy
“Owen proposed on my 30th birthday. I’d had an amazing time at my party the night before, and then he’d whisked us away to Saunton Sands hotel in Devon. We were sitting out on our balcony overlooking the sea – it was February, so we were all snuggled up in cosy jumpers, when I heard him say ‘Lucy will you marry me?’ I just burst into tears! Then, we cracked open a bottle of Champagne,” recalls Lucy
“I fell in love with Owen so quickly – he is just so lovable!”
The bride’s real wedding outfit
“I had decided last minute to go dress shopping because my sister was over from Holland and I thought it would be a nice thing for us to do together,” remembers Lucy. “The dress was the first one I tried on, designed by Cymbeline. I loved the simplicity of the style, contrasted with the intricacy of the lace. I knew it was going to be tough to beat!” To avoid looking too fussy, Lucy wore simple hair clips from Accessorize
The groom’s outfit
The boys’ real wedding suits were bought from T.M Lewin. Navy was chosen because it was a bit softer than black or grey. Their ties were cream with a flock pattern. Owen also wore a waistcoat to finish the look

“We had a lovely, personal church service. Our reverend Eleanor spent a lot of time with us in the lead up to the wedding, which helped to make it more special,” remembers Lucy
“We had a free bar – which helped the party go off with a bang!”
“I went to see Rita from The Passion of Flowers for a chat, and she was so helpful from the start – I knew instantly she was the right lady for the job,” recalls Lucy. We love the floral finishing touches!
“When we first visited our venue Chaucer Barn we were unsure how to feed people. There was no space to sit, without hiring a marquee. However, the chef, Andy, suggested doing stand up food bowls instead. We loved this idea! All the food was sourced locally and guests could select from six choices. This meant people could make the most of the wonderful house and the gardens as the weather was so fine,” smiles Lucy
“We went to santorinigrace.com, which was pure luxury. We had such a brilliant week – and would really recommend the hotel,” recalls Lucy.
