They met when they were just 14, but waited until six years later to start dating after finding each other through Facebook. Hannah says she always found Alex funny and was so excited to see him again, but never thought they would end up getting married!
But they did! And the proposal came while the couple were on holiday in Cuba. Even though the resort they were staying at fell short of their expectations, the proposal came one night on the beach after a few mojitos, “He knelt down on the sand and I remember my first thought was ‘what’s he doing down there?’” Hannah says. Once she realised what was going on she burst into tears and they celebrated with a few more mojitos while watching the shooting stars!

Her groom wore a three piece grey suit from Next and her two bridesmaids, sister Kate and best friend Janine, wore beautiful Tudor green gowns to tie in with the venue and theme. Their fur stoles were from Etsy and came in handy when minutes before walking down the aisle Janine’s dress broke – they fixed it with some pins and covered it up with the stole! Hannah’s dad stole the show with his hilarious, but moving speech, with the bride herself even giving a speech – “it was my day, after all!” Hannah says.

The theme for their special day was rustic with a Tudor-inspired twist! To ensure they stayed within their budget Hannah scoured craft shops and online for material and made a lot of the decorations herself. She made flags for her guests to wave, bought hessian to cut into triangles to make bunting and spray painted an old frame gold for the stunning table plan! Their yummy three-tier cake was by the fab Katie Talls Cakes, and complemented their theme perfectly.
