Emily and Lee had a picture-perfect big day! Their travel-themed wedding had lots of pretty purple details and surprise ice cream!

They met when they worked in the same office, but it took Lee three attempts to take Emily on a date! His perseverance paid off, and the couple were together two years before Lee popped the question, while on holiday in Greece. Emily had been in a bad mood about going home the next day, but that all changed when Lee produced the stunning ring.

As the beautiful bride walked down the aisle after getting married she says she felt “on top of the world!” Surrounded by smiling faces, it was a great reminder that the day was only just beginning.

The theme of this couple’s beautiful big day was ‘travel’, with each table named after a place that they have visited, and the table plan forming a map of the world. There were purple touches, too. Hales Hall Barn was the perfect venue, with hundreds of mini windows, which Emily and Lee filled with candles to create a magical wonderland.

Emily found her Ronald Joyce dress finally, after trawling stockists of the label nationwide. It was worth it – the dress fitted her perfectly and she loved the detail of the sparkly belt round the waist. The four bridesmaids and three flowergirls looked lovely in a purple chiffon gown from Della Rose. Emily’s best friend Natalie gave birth two days after the wedding, but still made it to the wedding reception! Emily was delighted to see Lee in his Moss Bros suit – normally only seen in jeans, the bride loved his look!

With a travel theme and lots of little details designed by the couple themselves, Emily and Lee’s reception was a feast for the eyes and ears! Favours were disposable cameras – always a brilliant idea – and boxes of the couple’s favourite sweets, including little packs of personalised Love Heart sweets. Stickers were made in their chosen colour scheme to say ‘thank you’. For the children, there were personalised goody bags with sweets and toys in them.
