WHO: Katie and Ieuan
WHERE: St James’ Church, marquee at parents’ house
WHEN: September 2010
PHOTOGRAPHER: Jay Armstrong
“We went for a lovely walk along the Jurassic coastline one evening. It was a wet, misty night and Ieuan was teaching me how to skim stones. I turned towards the water to practice, and when I looked back, Ieuan was down on one knee, with a sparkling diamond ring in his hand,” smiles Katie. “It was an amazing moment. We quickly took a photo, which captured a lovely snapshot full of love, tears of joy and happiness.”
The bride’s outfit
“I travelled much of the South West in search of my dress,” remembers Katie. “In the end, based on a recommendation, I visited Parham House Brides in Dunster. “Susan who owns the shop is so lovely, and will truly give you the experience of real wedding dress shopping you have always imagined. She helped me find my heavenly Pronovias gown, and nothing was too much trouble,” she adds

This bride’s opulent real wedding jewellery was from a collection that included her tiara, necklace and earrings set from Jenny Wicks
The groom’s outfit
“Technically, Ieuan chose the real wedding outfits, but based on the colour recommendations I gave him!” says Katie. The party wore grey tails suits hired from Moss Bros
“I am very close to my sisters, so I think they always knew I was going to ask them. We bought their dresses from Parham House Brides, in a dainty pastel pink so that they would complement my dress,” says Katie
The real wedding ceremony
“Our real wedding service included one reading, Corinthians, and a student at the school where I work sang Pie Jesu and Ava Maria while Ieuan and I signed the register,” explains Katie
Took place in the grounds of Katie’s parents’ house, in a marquee hired from Covered Occasions. “I dressed each table with vintage runners, small tea light candles, Champagne buckets, a floral centre piece – a mixture of pastel pink and brighter flowers and napkins. I also wrote all the place cards using calligraphy, and we set up an area where we displayed photos of our hen and stag parties and our life together,” says Katie. We love the vintage, real wedding country theme in keeping with their pastel pink day in a marquee

Sabine from G Lily provided the couple’s real wedding floral displays. “She was incredibly helpful and professional. She understood exactly what I wanted to achieve and I could fully put my trust in her,” recalls Katie. We love the pastel pink shades of the bouquets
Girls were given pastel pink handmade fabric corsages to take home and keep, while the boys made good use of the free bar!
The newlyweds jetted off to the luxurious island of Mykonos in Greece, for 10 days of bliss.
