The proposal
Although this happy couple had discussed marriage and knew an engagement was on the cards, Emma was still totally shocked when Mark popped the question. “We had moved into our new house together and were putting the finishing touches, to make it our own. One morning, while I was getting ready to go out, Mark rushed upstairs with a glass of Champagne and said – ‘I have something to ask you’ – and he did it right then, completely out of the blue!” remembers Emma
The bride’s real wedding outfit
Emma first laid eyes on her dream gown at a local wedding fayre. To her surprise, it was from a small boutique just minutes away from her house. “My dress was from Couture Room, part of their Dizzie Lizzie collection,” remembers Emma. “It felt absolutely amazing when I put it on. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the choice and had no idea what would suit me, but as soon as I tried this one on, I knew it was the one for me.”
The accessories
Emma complemented the sparkle on her gown with a simple ivory veil and shoes from Dune
“I felt absolutely amazing when I put my dress on. I knew instantly that it was the one for me”
The groom’s outfit
Traditionalist Mark hired his classic grey morning suit from Moss Bros in Liverpool. The couple also arranged for the Couture Room to make him a coral cravat to match the bridesmaids’ dresses
The bridesmaids
Emma had an older bridesmaid, her cousin and her younger cousin who was a flowergirl. Her older girl kitted out her curves in a stunning coral chiffon dress, while the younger girl wore a sweet ivory dress with a coral band around the waist. Both dresses were from Jasmine Bridal collection
The ceremony
“We had three readings in total, an organist to play along with the hymns and a fantastic harpist called Maxine Molin Rose,” says Emma
The flowers
Romantic Notions in Liverpool (0151 226 1253) provided all the floristry for Emma and Mark’s big day
The cake
“We decided on a four-tier cake with orange and peach roses cascading down the front. We bought it from David Cakes, his flavours were out of this world!” smiles Emma
The honeymoon
Was a sightseeing and shopping tour of Las Vegas.
