The proposal

I burst into tears and just managed to squeak ‘yes’. With that, he picked me up and spun me around, it was a wonderful moment,” she adds

Charlotte looked a million dollars in her dazzling Mori Lee. “I’ve always wanted a big, sparkly princess dress, and this one was perfect,” she smiles. “My favourite part was definitely the teal sash, made from the same fabric as my bridesmaids’ dresses.”

The accessories

“I met Rachel Simpson at the National Wedding Show in London, and knew that I had to have a pair of her shoes,” explains Charlotte. “I then made them even better with my ‘I Do’ stickers that I bought from the Wedding Ideas shop!”she adds. Charlotte’s butterfly-inspired jewellery was from the Jon Richard collection at Debenhams

“I made my shoes even better by adding ‘I Do’ stickers from the Wedding Ideas shop!”

The groom’s outfit

Mark hired his traditional morning suit and cream waistcoat from Pronuptia Chelmsford. “He looked so handsome, I shed a few tears,” remembers Charlotte

The bridesmaids

“I had two adult bridesmaids and two flowergirls,” explains Charlotte. “Because the girls were all different shapes and sizes, we started out looking for different dresses for all of them. However, when we found the Alfred Angelo dresses, they were so flattering that I bought them all!” she adds “Our theme was teal with butterflies, in an enchanted garden style, like the forest in Sleeping Beauty. The bridesmaids’ outfits and butterfly accessories fitted in with this perfectly.”

The ceremony

“My Dad walked me down the aisle, followed by the little flowergirls scattering petals. We had the traditional Wedding March music, and I remember my knees shaking as it started. I instantly felt calmer as soon as I saw Mark with a huge smile on his face, though!”

“Our teal and butterflies theme was inspired by the enchanted forest in Sleeping Beauty”

The flowers

Vicky from Essex Wedding Flowers created the couple’s fragrant blooms, which she hand tied with teal ribbon and decorated with a scattering of butterflies

The décor

“We rented chair covers from A Light Balloon and lined the window sills and walkways with LED tea lights mixed with fresh ivy leaves. It looked like a fairy land in the evening,” smiles Charlotte

The honeymoon

“We spent two weeks chilling out on the beaches of St Lucia. Just what we needed after all those months of hectic wedding planning!” says Charlotte.
