We adore Samantha and Freddie’s picture-perfect wedding celebration. This classic wedding theme had splashes of mint green and a touch of Italian inspiration!
The proposal
It was love at first sight for Samantha and Freddie when they met as teenagers. They had their first date at Biguns, a restaurant in London that’s sadly no longer there. “I think
we kept that place in business in those first five years of dating!” laughs Samantha. It wasn’t until the couple were on holiday a week before her 30th birthday that Freddie finally popped the question. “He took me to this amazing villa high up in the mountains overlooking the sea,” Samantha recalls. “We were served a seven course meal and after the dessert Freddie got down on one knee and proposed, I was so surprised!”
The bride’s outfit
This beautiful bride chose a strapless Mori Lee gown with sweetheart neckline, a far cry from what she thought she would wear. “I was encouraged to try on all the styles and I’m so happy I took that advice,” explains Samantha. She accessorised with gorgeous Christian Louboutin heels and a handmade delicate lace veil. “My mum presented me with a stunning diamond tennis bracelet on the morning of the wedding which matched my diamond drop earrings perfectly!” remembers Samantha.
The groom’s outfit
Freddie’s suit was from Hugo Boss and he accessorised with an evening waistcoat from Charles Tyrwhitt.
The bridesmaids
Samantha was attended by her five best friends as bridesmaids and Freddie’s niece and her goddaughter were flowergirls. “The bridesmaid dresses were my first purchase,” explains Samantha. “I fell in love with the Grecian floor-length style straight away and knew they would all look beautiful wearing them!”
The ceremony
The couple had a civil ceremony with readings from family members. As Samantha lost her father when she was young, she felt it right to ask Freddie’s dad John to walk her down the aisle, “He’s very close to me,” Samantha says. “We framed photos of my dad and Freddie’s best friend who passed away suddenly to show they were still part of our day.”
The reception
White, elegant and classic were the main themes for this picture-perfect wedding. “I
chose our venue as it was quite modern,” Samantha explains. “I also researched Italian weddings as I love that sort of style!” All the tables were decorated with rose petals and white flower centrepieces. Samantha’s mum spent the year collecting little trinkets, bottles, hearts and love signs. She even personalised them with the couple’s names, the date they met and their children’s names. Music was provided by a DJ, and Samantha put together
a wedding playlist of songs that were popular when they first met and Motown classics, including their first dance song, You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing.
The honeymoon
The newlyweds spent five days on the Amalfi Coast, staying in a couples only boutique hotel.
