It was love at first sight for newlyweds Hollie and Paul, who chose a vibrant colour scheme for their bright pink and gorgeous coral wedding day…
The proposal
“I knew he was the one as soon as I saw him,” says Hollie. “I even went home that night and said my mum that I’ve met the man I’m going to marry tonight. Paul proposed during the couple’s holiday to Mexico. “I was so surprised, I had no idea as we’d just bought our first house,” smiles Hollie.
The bride’s outfit
Hollie looked stunning in her bespoke gown, which was made by her sister-in-law. “I tried on a few dresses in London, but none of them felt like ‘the one’ so I designed my dress and asked my sister-in-law to make it for me instead,” remembers Hollie. The silk fishtail gown featured a corset-style top and a stunning long train. Hollie added diamond earrings, a veil made by her mum and Christian Louboutin shoes to complete her look.
The groom’s outfit
Paul wore a navy suit and pink tie from Topman. “He looked so handsome.” smiles Hollie.
The bridesmaids
Hollie chose her sister, sister-in-law and two best friends as bridesmaids. “They all looked stunning in 100% silk, fuchsia dresses. “I didn’t want typical bridesmaids dresses, so I chose these designs from Topshop,” explains Hollie.
The ceremony
Newton Hall was the perfect venue for this couple’s civil ceremony. “I loved walking down the aisle with my mum to Roberta Flack’s The First Time I Ever I Saw Your Face and seeing Paul waiting for me,” says Hollie.
The reception
The reception continued at Newton Hall with speeches by the groom and his two best men. The guests were served a feta cheese salad, fish and chips, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. They enjoyed entertainment from The Cortinas as well as a photobooth and garden games.
The details
This couple chose a bright coral, pink and lime green for their day. “Our house and everything I wear is bright so I wanted to bring it into the wedding,” says Hollie. The decorations included tissue paper pom poms made by Hollie and her mum, old glass bottles filled with flowers and bright pink and green doilies for the guests’ glasses. The wedding flowers were provided by Greener interiors in Newcastle and the couple chose a simple cake from Marks and Spencer and added colourful macaroons in the big day colours.
The first dance
Hollie and Paul chose John Legend’s All of Me as their first dance.”We both love the song and the words were so perfect,” says Hollie.
The honeymoon
The couple went on an extended honeymoon around America. They visited the sights of Las Vegas and New York and enjoyed trying different food and seeing shows. They also spent time in Barbados relaxing after their big day.
