A fun, family wedding for all generations – with 6 best men! Newlyweds Ashley and Bart opted for a boho, festival-style wedding!
While dating, Ashley and Bart spent six weeks travelling around New Zealand in a campervan! Quite a brave move considering they had only been together for six months, although they had known each other through work for around five years. Clearly it was meant to be! While at Bart’s parents farm in Wales for the weekend, the loved up couple went for a walk to a beautiful peninsula where they sat and watched dolphins playing in the bay. Bart asked Ashley if she would “love him forever” (yes!) “for the rest of your life” (yes!) and “will you be my wife?” (of course, one day!). She carried on talking, completely oblivious to what he had actually asked! The next day they walked along another beach when Bart actually popped the question!
Instead of traditional readings, Ashley and Bart chose to write 10 promises to each other. Ashley found her Lusan Mandongus gown at Isabella Grace in Royal Tunbridge Wells. She knew that it was the one even before they had finished fastening it, and seeing her mum and her sister’s faces when she walked out in it sealed the deal! She accessorised with Paradox Pink ‘Fondant’ shoes and a bespoke headpiece and bracelet made by Forget Me Knot Boutique. There was one bridesmaid, Ashley’s nana Alice, who walked down the aisle with the youngest member of the family, Ashley’s nephew Jude.
This lovely couple chose a relaxed BBQ for their wedding breakfast (The ‘Brashleys’ Big Bash’), and their mums made the puddings. Wood-fired pizzas from The Mobile Pizzeria fed guests in the evening. Bart had six best men – his brother and five best friends – their speech had everyone in hysterics. The Black Swan was beautifully decorated with bunting, festoon and fairy lights, lanterns and hay bales. Bart’s sister Lisa co-ordinated it all to create a magical festival-style setting.
