It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And that’s why we’re treating you with this gorgeous shoot by photographer, Ayshea Goldberg. Based on an elegant combination of Downton Abbey and The Great Gatsby, this shoot is all about winter glamour…

Ayesha Goldberg explains the inspiration behind the shoot, “I chose Hylands House as I love this venue and after capturing a wedding reception there earlier this year, I knew it would make a beautiful venue for a styled shoot. It had to have a very rich and decadent theme to the day, to be in keeping with the rooms, and as I love Downton Abbey and The Great Gatsby I thought a fusion of English splendour and 1920’s glamour would be perfect.”

I found a group of very like minded creative wedding suppliers across Essex who also shared my vision, and by working together to prepare by sharing ideas and a Pinterest board, coming together on the day, we all knew that we had something a bit special to showcase our talents. It’s a process that I share with my brides and encourage them to keep in touch with me throughout their wedding planning journey – I get to know the things that they love and by sharing ideas I know that they’ll really enjoy the experience and treasure their portfolio afterwards.”

The theme would suit a decadent luxurious wedding, or would be perfect for Christmas and winter celebrations because of the colours and textures we used. Laura, owner of Bellisima weddings in South Woodham Ferrres knew exactly which dresses would fit the venue and scene, and wanted to showcase something a little different, which these dresses were and her accessories were fab. We didn’t use veils in the end as we felt they weren’t right for the styles or theme.”

Fabulous florist, Clare Newman, did a lot of research for the types of flowers to use, and went for something unusual. The aim of the shoot was to show that not all weddings have to be the same, and the team used visual suggestions to show brides what else is out there!

Make-up artist, Rhianna, opted for bright red nails to complete the bridal look – making it look eye-catching and different!
