The proposal

“We were on holiday in New York, and on the fourth day we decided to try our hand at ice skating in the Rockefeller Centre,” remembers Anna. “I fell on the ice, and Louis took a ‘sympathy dive’, which I thought was to make me feel less silly. However, he was actually proposing! Louis had to ask the question twice before I twigged what was going on! I said ‘yes’ and everyone around us started cheering,” she adds

The bride’s outfit for her real wedding abroad

“My Mum and I were out shopping in our local town, a year before the wedding. I thought it was a little too early to be dress shopping, but Mum talked me into trying a few on. The sales assistant handed me a dress, it was utterly stunning and I fell in love straight away,” explains Anna. The real wedding dress was by White Rose Bridal and made from luxurious, lightweight fabric, perfect for the sunny weather in Dubrovnik

The accessories

Anna dazzled in her Polly Edwards hairpiece that co-ordinated beautifully with the detailing on her gown. Her ‘something borrowed’ was a beautiful bracelet from her sister, and her Kurt Geiger shoes were the cutest final touch

The groom’s outfit

For his real wedding abroad Louis looked cool and relaxed (despite the 30 degree heat!) in his light-grey linen suit hired from Swords Formal Wear. “I thought Louis would be nervous, but he looked so happy,” says Anna

The bridesmaids

Anna was bang on trend kitting her girls out in perfect purple satin dresses by Dessy. You heard it here first, ladies, purple is going to be everywhere this wedding season!

“I thought Louis had just slipped on the ice. I didn’t realise he was on his knee, proposing!”

The ceremony

The picturesque surroundings of Lokrum Island were the perfect setting for the couple’s intimate ceremony. “We arrived to the sights and sounds of peacocks and bird song. Our service was held in the ruins of an old monastery under beautiful palm tress,” smiles Anna

The cake

What more can we say about this show-stopping profiterole tower other than ‘wow’?!

The favours

Were miniature bottles of Grappa, a traditional Croatian liqueur. A perfect touch for this real wedding abroad.

The honeymoon

After leaving Dubrovnik, the couple returned to Ireland ready to embark on the trip of a lifetime to Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Dubai!
