Smart and sophisticated, Arabella and Adam’s country wedding situated in the beautiful Cotswolds oozed classic charm and elegance…

How they met

College sweethearts Arabella and Adam first got talking during a field trip to Cornwall. “We had identical bags, which got mixed up when the coach was unloaded,” laughs Arabella. “I was rather alarmed to unzip my bag and find boxer shorts! When I went down to the youth hostel reception to sort out the mix-up, Adam was there waiting with my bag, and the rest is history!”

The proposal

Adam’s proposal was a birthday surprise for Arabella. “We were staying in Cornwall, and Adam suggested an early morning walk along the sand dunes,” Arabella remembers. “When we got to the top, Adam told me he had an extra special present for me, and got down on one knee.”

The bride’s outfit

Arabella chose a bespoke Suzanne Neville gown in silk taffeta, with a fitted bodice, button detailing and a bow at the back. “I wanted my dress to be simple and timeless, so that our wedding photos wouldn’t date,” Arabella explains. “As soon as I put it on, I felt like it was everything I had dreamed of.” A cathedral-length veil with ribbon trim and scattered crystals provided the perfect finishing touch.

The groom’s outfit

Adam and his groomsmen opted for classic black morning suits hired from Parkes Menswear, teamed with ivory shirts, waistcoats and cravats, and black patent shoes.

The bridesmaids

Arabella’s sister Alex was maid of honour, and wore a full-length black gown by Ted Baker with shoes by Vivienne Westwood.

The ceremony

Arabella and Adam chose a religious ceremony at St James’s Church in Chipping Campden. “My sister wrote and performed a reading for us,” Arabella smiles. “It was called ‘Little Shadow’ and it moved the whole congregation to tears.”

The reception

Arabella and Adam’s reception was a musical feast, with singer Jamie Knight performing acoustic big band and swing classics during the welcome drinks, followed by a DJ in the evening. “We also hired a photo booth for the evening reception, which was a huge hit with our guests,” says Arabella.

The honeymoon

The happy couple enjoyed two weeks in Mauritius.
