The proposal

“Chris took me to Bath for the weekend, we went to a really great restaurant. Afterwards, we stopped at Pulteney Bridge where he got down on one knee.”

Bride’s real wedding outfit

“I found my dress in a little wedding dress boutique in central London called Collezione Sposa. As soon as I put it on, I felt like it was really meant for me. It was a lovely ruched style with an A-line skirt, a very classy style. I wore it with diamond earrings, and a veil,” smiles Lauren.

Groom’s outfit

“Chris chose and hired his traditional morning suit from Moss Bros , and wore it with a black cravat. I thought he looked great,” she beams.

Bridesmaids

“I had four bridesmaids and three flowergirls, all really close friends of mine so it was not hard to choose. All of them have had such a positive impact on my life. They wore a black dress with an embellished waistline and a pearl bracelet, which went perfectly with the minimalistic black and white theme.”

Getting ready

“I went for the classic look, and hopefully not too overdone as the theme was about understated elegance. I definitely suggest that brides-to-be do a trial run with their make-up artist before the day of their real wedding.”

The reception

“The venue was Adam Street Private Members’ Club where we catered for 82 guests for the sit-down dinner, and about 25 more came for drinks and canapés afterwards. The wedding breakfast was a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian for both starters and main; the food was excellent. The speeches were great, my dad’s was very memorable and made me cry, while Chris’s was very funny. If we could do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
