Ellie and Iain met when they were just 18, and they planned a beautiful summer wedding in lovely Somerset. We adore this wedding!
It was when on a romantic holiday in Sardinia that Iain popped the question every loved-up woman wants to hear! Ellie was reaching into the bag for the camera to take a picture of her and Iain and when she looked up he was on a one knee with a ring in his hand! It came completely out of the blue for Ellie, “I was very surprised – normally I know when Iain’s planning something,” she says. Pirouette, a beautiful bridal store in Exeter was where she found her lovely lace, capped sleeved dress – styling it up with a gorgeous headpiece, necklace and pearl earrings. For Iain, Ellie had a suit custom made especially for him in a pastel blue colour with dark blue waistcoat, and he looked “amazing.” Ellie’s three bridesmaids all wore pretty pale peach dresses bought online but modified by the bride to make sure they were really special for them!
After a beautiful church ceremony guests were served ice cream and Pimms at the reception, with afternoon tea. Both lovers of the film Up there were balloons aplenty at this wedding, along with pom poms and a unique photobooth. The stunning flowers were by Lydia from Eclectic Bliss, a naked cake was in keeping with the warm time of year! Each guest was even given a balloon where they could attach a wish to the string and let go, a lovely thing to see 60 balloons let go in the sky…
