“When pro make-up artist Gemma Sutton asked me if I wanted to style a shoot being held in a Chateau in the south of France, I literally jumped at the chance. Gemma had teamed up with talented vintage wedding photographer David Wickham of Modern Vintage Weddings and their mission was to showcase the gorgeous headpieces of bridal accessories designer Donna Crain.

I was pretty much given a free reign to style the shoot however I pleased. In my mind I pictured a gorgeous chateau with shabby chic detailing. So I looked at Donna’s website and saw that her stunning vintage inspired headpieces had a real glamorous Hollywood vibe and so my ideas started to form…

A shabby chic styled bridal shoot using vintage suitcases, French vintage books, dried lavender, dried rose buds and rose petals with French styled shabby chic wedding stationery and vintage glass bottles. I wanted to inject some old-school 30s glamour into this rustic look, I created this by draping pearls and glitzy, sparkly jewelry into the elegant 30s champagne glasses and Donna’s beautiful headpieces over the vintage books. I decided that this look would be complemented with understated yet glamorous wedding dresses; our model Kathryn looked sensational in Sabina Motasem’s gorgeous 30s inspired creations!! Gemma gave the model an ultra sophisticated look with pin curls and a silver sheen and Donna’s glamorous headpieces. I absolutely adore the romantic yet sultry style of Kathryn’s hair and the purple tones in her make-up.
