Wedding Ideas hot-footed it to Harrogate for the British Bridal Exhibition this week, where we spotted the top wedding dress trends for 2015… Don’t go dress shopping without reading this first!
Designer collaboration
Winner of The Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock has teamed up with wedding dress giants Maggie Sottero for a brand new collection on 2015. Fusing Desiree’s passion for nature and love of Art Deco design, the new dresses are perfect for boho or vintage-loving brides. Think beaded details, 3D flowers, and free-flowing fabrics.
Sleeves
Wedding dresses with sleeves are going to be HUGE in 2015. Boutiques from all over the country were picking pretty gowns with sleeves of all lengths, from demure cap sleeves to delicate wrist lengths. If you want to cover your arms on the big day, you’ll fall in love with the 2015 collections guaranteed!
Colours
Alfred Angelo, Benjamin Roberts, Veromia and Mon Cheri – all the top manufacturers at Harrogate were showing dresses with subtle colour for the new year. Nude, blush and light gold were the favourite hues, perfect for brides who want to step away from tradition and stand out from the crowd.
New name
Catherine Parry was another name that stood out at the show with gorgeous dresses inspired by Hollywood icons. Sublime structure and exquisite detailing made the bridal boutiques take notice, and we think this new name should be on your must-see list too!
Beautiful backs
One of the hottest wedding dress trends for 2015 is beautiful backs. From plunging sexy numbers to delicately jewelled designs, check out Donna Salado, Decorum Bride and Phil Collins for some of the best looks around.
Adaptable gowns
Brides want to be blew to personalise their wedding gowns and today’s designers have picked up on that. The Harrogate show welcomed a raft of new details like detachable straps, trains and sleeves so if you want to customise a standard design with little touches of your own, 2015 is the year to do it! Kelsey Rose stood out for us with their collection of multi-way bridesmaid dresses.
Accessory trends
Boho is back with a bang and many accessory designers have taken the festival influence on board creating oversized floral headpieces and combs that would be perfect for a relaxed summer celebration. Flowers were also making a huge impact on shoes as well with Rainbow Club showing fabulously floral designs alongside beautiful brights at the Colour Studio.
The British Bridal Exhibition is also the home to the Bridal Buyer Awards, voted for by the bridal boutiques and designers themselves. Wedding Ideas would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners, who were…
