Style and comfort are key in Rachel Simpson‘s latest collection – which is great news if you’re planning on making the most of those long summer evenings. Here are seven of our favourite vintage bridal shoes for the warmer months…
Dottie is the fashionista amongst the collection; she’s full of character and with her concealed platform, she’s the perfect shoe for adding height without compromising on comfort. The buttery soft ivory leather upper is embellished with with zig-zag binding in metallic silver leather and diamond shaped cut-outs, so she can be worn for day or night. And we love a bit of bow-action too, so this double bow at the base of the T-bar gets our vote!
Fleur is an adorable peep-toe sandal in soft ivory kid suede. The elegant handmade flowers are finished perfectly with tiny bead trims in their centre, giving a very romantic, summery look. The two-part design of the shoe makes Fleur very wearable, with a supportive ankle strap and slightly more substantial heel. This not only adds to the comfort but also gives a more vintage look.
A nod to nature
Mimosa is inspired by natural shapes, reminiscent of butterfly wings, or soft, oversized petals. The upper is made up of elegantly shaped panels in buttery soft leather, overlaid on metallic leather to beautifully outline the petal design. This gorgeous, delicate shoe is available in colours taken from nature’s palette, too – pale green, pale peach and ivory.
Elegant ballerina flat
Sometimes you just want a pair of elegant flats to go with your outfits, but too often the lack of heel seems to equate to lack of style – not with Lucille. Lucille is crafted from stunning antique style lace overlaid on tonal satin, and finished with delicate satin binding and a cute bow trim. The elegant almond toe-shape gives this shoe a chic silhouette, which is complemented by a comfy quarter-inch heel.
Lulu is a truly 50s-inspired peep-toe, which would add a touch of fun to any outfit. Crafted from buttery soft, matte finish leather, the fine contrast binding curves elegantly around the back part, adding a subtle vintage-inspired feature. For a true 50’s look, Lulu is finished with a gorgeous double bow – now all you need is the perfect pedicure to complete the look!
The Victoria peep-toe shoes are often met with sighs of ‘oh, I need a pair of those!’ She’s available in traditional ivory with silver trim, blush pink with champagne trim for a wonderfully romantic look, or midnight navy with champagne for a touch of drama. The concealed platform makes the shoe feel lower than it looks, so is a great choice for all-day comfort and just perfect with your favourite jeans and cool summer T-shirt.
A pop of colour
Nora is from our sister company Agnes & Norman. She’s a gorgeously vintage style T-bar, combining antique effect leather with floral perforated leather panels and stacked heel, to give a really summery look. Nora is a ‘pop it on and wear with anything’ shoe and she looks great with a tea-dress, skirt or skinnies – a true summer staple.
