DIY Sweet Trees

The BridedeForce Youtube channel is run by beauty blogger FleurdeForce and her wedding planner sister, Hannah, which makes them a great team for DIY tutorials. We love their videos, and think this fab sweet tree tutorial is particularly useful – sweet trees make cute tablecentres, or brilliant additions to a dessert table.

DIY Cake Pops

Speaking of dessert tables, these adorable gold and silver cake pops will look amazing at a metallic theme wedding! Cake pops have been very popular at American weddings for the past few years, and they’re appearing more and more over here – which isn’t surprising, as their tiny size also makes them great for individual favours!

DIY Wedding Bouquet

This tutorial is perfect for brides-to-be who want a classic bouquet for a fraction of the price – this simple arrangement involves just two plants, but looks beautiful and traditional. Professional florist Judith also has other videos teaching you how to make gorgeous centrepieces and bouquets, so do take a look!

DIY Bridal Updo

There are LOADS of bridal hair video tutorials to choose from, but we particularly like this pretty updo from My Wedding Scrapbook as it incorporates a wedding hair accessory, which is great for brides who want to wear a tiara or headband. We think it would particularly suit weddings with a more rustic, boho vibe.

DIY Place Cards

Another fab video from My Wedding Scrapbook – these place cards are super easy to make, but are the perfect match for weddings with a lace theme or a rustic neutral colour scheme! To complete the look, why not watch their matching wedding bunting and favour bag DIY tutorials?

DIY Table Centres/Table Numbers

This clever tutorial from Popsugar Girls’ Guide is two in one, as these cute DIY glitter vases act as both table centres and table numbers! You can personalise these vases any way you want – instead of table numbers, why not add you and your fiancé’s initials, or your wedding date? That way they can act as pretty keepsakes to remind you of your day.

DIY Bridal Makeup

A lot of our real brides shy away from doing their own makeup on the day, but this is a great way to not only save a little money, but ensure that you can get your makeup looking just as you want it on the day. We love a professional makeover as much as the next girl, but we always advise brides not to stray too far from their usual makeup for the wedding – you want to be able to recognise yourself in photos, after all!

This gorgeous tutorial from professional makeup artist Lisa Eldridge is perfect for English rose brides – don’t forget to check out her other wedding videos to get the best look for you!

DIY Wedding in Three Months

Okay, this video isn’t a tutorial – but it does give you an idea of exactly how much of your big day you can take on yourself! American bride Reby made ‘just about everything’ for her North Carolina wedding, from her Peach Pie Moonshine favours to the massive light-up letters decorating her reception venue. It just goes to show that you can create a completely unique day with a little time and preparation!
