If you think your big day requests are a bit outlandish sometimes, don’t worry, they’re unlikely to shock your suppliers! We asked Louise Wright from The Wedding Gateway, a network of local wedding websites across the UK, to bring you some of their most unusual requests from real brides…
The zebra wedding cake
Jill The Cakemaker had quite the unusual cake request from one bride. “The most unusual wedding cake of my career so far has to be the Zebra Head Wedding Cake, that I delivered to HMS Warrior,” says Jill.
Peacock theme
Rebecca from Something Different shared her recent peacock-themed paper origami flowers. These buttonholes were produced specifically at the bride’s request.
Land Rover favours
Kelly from Village Crafts had a ‘wheely’ unusual favour box request. “We had just four weeks to make 97 custom Land Rover wedding favours for a couple’s wedding,” says Kelly.
Hawaiian island invitations
Jodie from Wedding Invitation Creations made some tropical invitations that screamed ‘Aloha!’. “We mainly get asked to match colour schemes but our most recent request was to make the wedding invitations into the shape of Oahu, the Hawaiian island where the couple will be getting married,” says Jodie.
PacMan rings
Anna from The Wedding Ring Store often gets asked for custom engraving on wedding rings. However this was the first time she had been asked to engrave Mr & Mrs PacMan!
Halloween wedding
Karen from Balloon Décor worked with a bride and groom to ensure they had their dream Halloween themed wedding. Before the evening guests arrived, the bride and groom sneaked off and transformed themselves into Dracula and his wife, in true Halloween style.
Lace boots
House of Elliot Lace Bridal Boots & Shoes have supplied their lace boots as far afield as Sydney Australia for a Steam Punk themed wedding.
