No matter what your budget, you can still have a dream wedding day in the city that never sleeps! We’ve found six fabulous places to get hitched in New York – which one would you choose?
Beat the budget
Want something a little more private? Outdoor New York wedding locations like central park might be more your thing. Choose from the Ladies Pavilion, the Pond, Summit Rock and more. Want a completely unique setting? You can apply to the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation for a permit or if you have less than 20 people, you may not need a permit at all. You could even arrive by classic horse and carriage to make the movie-inspired fairytale complete.
For just $25, you can get married Carrie and Big style in New York’s City Hall. You must wait 24 hours after obtaining your marriage licence before you can legally wed – all the more time to explore this fabulous city. Then hop on the subway and meet friends and family at a traditional diner for your wedding breakfast. Cool, contemporary and memorable – and all without spending a fortune.
Meet the budget
Atlantica by Bateaux New York
If you want to see the city from a different perspective, why not get married on board on the stylish Atlantica by Bateaux New York? They can arrange memorable ceremonies on board the vessel with breathtaking views of New York Harbour, complete with dinner and dancing under the stars. There are four vessels to choose from, so you can choose whichever suits the size of your guest list.
The Loeb Boathouse
If you want to mix an urban setting with a little bit of nature, this is the perfect place. The Loeb Boathouse at Central Park provides a haven in the bustling city – you’re surrounded by a lush landscape of row boats, birds, trees, squirrels – everything! Photo opportunities are endless here and because the inside looks as good as the outside, this is also a good option for winter weddings, too.
With breathtaking views of the New York Public Library, Andaz Fifth Avenue is a chic city wedding venue. This place may be at the top end of your wedding budget but if you really want to wow your guests, this is the place to do it. Andaz offers a home-away-from-home experience and weddings take place in their cool and contemporary Apartment 2E.
Inside, Studio One boasts 14-foot windows looking straight at the New York Public Library while the courtyard is perfect for private, pre-dinner cocktails. Just steps away from all of Midtown’s main attractions including Times Square and the Empire State Building, your guests travelling from out of town will love it here, too.
Boasting one of the most striking locations in Manhattan, the Mandarin Oriental has views of the city that just can’t be beaten. With an experienced events team that can introduce you to the city’s best wedding planners, a talented in-house florist, customisable menus and not forgetting that heavenly spa, this might just be the ultimate Big Apple wedding location.
The bride and groom also receive a complimentary suite on the day and night of the wedding and a host of VIP privileges at any of the Mandarin Oriental hotels in the group. Budget-blowing but worth it!
