Award-winning bridal designer Mark Lesley understands how brides want to look on their big day.
He always keeps his eye on up-and-coming wedding trends and talks to his boutiques regularly to find out what styles girls are asking for, so you know his designs are going to be fashion-forward and fabulous! A new collaboration with design powerhouse Donna Solado has meant that the new 2014 collection is stronger than ever. Think designer-led details and statement, sophisticated silhouettes. We’ve picked just five dazzling details from his brand new collection here, to help you choose a gown to wow your guests – and your h2b – on the big day. Which dreamy detail is your favourite?
Classic shape
It’s hard to beat the classic bridal silhouette and style 7031 will give you this in an instant! The flattering sweetheart neckline, the A-line skirt and waist-cinching belt work together to create a timeless bridal look. Perfect for civil or religious ceremonies, this shape will work on most body shapes.
Sheer neckline
A huge bridal trend for 2013/14, sheer necklines are all over the bridal catwalks right now. Style 7053 teams its sheer neckline with a vintage-style lace overlay, creating an elegant look for a summer celebration. This slim-fitting shape is also great if you have a smaller venue and a narrow aisle to walk down.
Scalloped edging
A pretty and popular neckline choice, the new Mark Lesley collection features this scallop-edged design which we love! Style 7035 works especially well if you’re planning on having an updo and wearing statement earrings on the big day. This neckline is so pretty you don’t really need a necklace!
Cover up
Mark Lesley also boasts a cute range of cover ups in his new collection which enable you to change your look from day to night. Style 7038 comes with a small jacket, which would be perfect for winter brides who wanted a little more coverage for a church ceremony.
Figure-flattering bodice
Sometimes the simplest dresses are the most beautiful and style 7060 is just one example of this. The clean, sophisticated lines are perfect for unfussy brides and the clever criss-cross detailing on the bodice draws the eye to your smallest part. Add subtle sparkly appliqué at the waist and you have the perfect gown for a chic, city ceremony.
