We asked Veromia, the designers of the figure flattering range of tailored outfits for mums, for their top tips for ways to get your mum involved in planning the biggest day of your life. If you’re lucky enough to have your mum around and have a great relationship with her, you will want her involved in planning your wedding day. But do ask her first if she wants to before you give her a list as long as your arm!
Let her help you choose your dress. From a mothers point of view seeing your daughter in a wedding dress for the first time is an incredibly emotional experience and if it doesn’t make her cry, it’s not the one.
Ask her to escort you down the aisle if your dad isn’t around – that will be one moment she will never forget! In some weddings, both parents will walk the bride down the aisle which is a lovely idea if you’re a really close family and want both your parents to feel included as much as possible, but this is one rule that is OK to break!
Go shopping with her when she picks her outfit for the day. Make it a special day together, have lunch and enjoy a glass of bubbly! Naturally, you will want her to co-ordinate with you and your bridesmaids, but she must feel comfortable and stylish, too. Remember she will be appearing in a lot of photos throughout the day, so you’ll want her to be the happiest she can be!
