We love spotting all the up-and-coming bridal trends here at Wedding Ideas and this autumn’s British Bridal Exhibition was full of them!

Pippa and Rachel from the team made the journey to the beautiful spa town of Harrogate where the world’s best bridal designers and manufacturers revealed their collections for the coming year. If you’re getting married in 2014, you’re in for a real treat! Here are just some of our favourite finds from the show…

Diane Hassall at Rainbow Club has surpassed herself for 2014 with a perfectly pretty collection of pastel-coloured lace shoes for bridesmaids – or even daring brides! Choose from peep toes or classic points, dress your girls in the same colour dresses and mix up their shoes for a magical, modern look. Elsewhere Rachel Simpson wowed with her Art Deco-inspired designs, while Paradox perfectly married glamour with comfort with their sparkly mid-heel heights.

Alfred Angelo’s new Royal Maidens collection is a fairytale come true. Lighter-than-air gowns in a multitude of colours – your best girls will love, love, love these new styles, available in a range of lengths.

New name

Miquel Suay from Spain was one of the new names to watch, with his super-stylish eclectic mix of clean lines and designs that flatter feminine curves.

Budget-friendly bridal

You may associate Kelsey Rose with bridesmaid dresses, but next year they will also be launching a budget-friendly bridal collection. These dresses will be low in price but still feature fabulous fabrics and elegant embellishments – definitely one to watch. We also spotted some amazing bridesmaid and occasion wear designs – some of the sassy, shorter ivory styles would make perfect dresses for a rehearsal dinner.

Fabric finds

Dessy were showing off a brand new fabric for their bridesmaid dresses, super-soft to the touch but slightly heavier which gave them a flattering fall. And it was all about jersey at vintage specialists Eliza Jane Howell. This new fabric bought a new dimension to their classic 20s-inspired looks.

Colour crew

Many designers included a subtle use of colour in their new-year collections, but Diane Harbridge and Donna Salado really caught our eye. Diane used a mocha colour underneath and a classic lace overlay on top while Donna Salado created a striking look with her ombre gown.

Beautiful backs

If you want to wow your guests as you walk down the aisle, keep a look out for the new Justin Alexander collection. Designer Tony Mentel has created some show-stopping designs, from classic cowls to heavily embellished keyholes. The designer himself was also on hand to give our very own Pippa some top styling tips for her own wedding abroad next year. Thanks Tony!

Enzoani are one of the hottest names in bridal right now and their new collaboration with Badgley Mischka was big news at the show. Their new Badgley Mischka bridal collection, previously only available in the US, will feature the signature beading and embroidery, as well as quality construction and fresh silhouettes.

Finishing touches

Ivory and Co were top of our list when it came to accessories. Their beautiful collection of headpieces really stood out from the crowd – and now they have a beautiful bridal collection to accompany them, too! Other accessory companies that caught our eye included Daisy Day with their boho-inspired headbands and veils and Sasso, whose fabulous feather wraps have to be the perfect finishing touch for a vintage-inspired big day.
