We’ve got the specialists of wedding decorations, The Wedding of my Dreams to tell you exactly what every reception needs. Centrepieces – yep, candles – yep, table plan – yep, but all with a slight 2015 twist!
Signs
Make it easy for your wedding guests to find their way around your venue – hang signs showing the direction of the ceremony, reception room, toilets, parking, and the bar of course!
Centrepieces
Your centrepieces should reflect your wedding style and personality, this will make your wedding more ‘you’. If you love the rustic outdoors, perhaps you have chosen to have your reception in a tipi – a tree slice with a grouping of flowers in the centre of the tables would look perfect.
Alternatively, if you love summer and are having a country garden style wedding, summer blooms in a cream jug could be your choice, or pastel-coloured bud vases with pretty flowers. For a more elegant look. you might prefer a silver vase with classic white flowers.
Candles
Add a romantic candlelight to your tables and key areas around the venue, again choose candles or tea light holders that reflect your wedding style.
Table plan
Choose a table plan with personality to reflect your style – for example, if you are having a travel-themed wedding or getting married abroad, use a world map as your table plan and name your tables after countries that mean something to you as a couple.
Photography
Collect photos taken by your guests. Having an Instagram hashtag is an excellent way to keep track of all your guests’ photos. Let guests know your wedding hashtag by displaying it at your wedding!
Children activities
If you are inviting children, think of create ways to keep them entertained during the meal and speeches. Our collection of activity books and games are great for all ages.
Guest book
Guest books are a lovely way to keep memories of your day, but you don’t have to stick to traditional guest books you could ask guests to write down their favourite memories they have shared with you or their advice or tips for a happy marriage.
Outdoors
Decorate the outdoor spaces too! If there is a feature tree outside at your venue, think about handing bottles, tea light holders and bud vases from the branches on different lengths of ribbon for a stunning look that’s so simple.
Favours
Thank your guests for sharing your special day with you – leave them a favour at their place setting. Whatever you choose to give them can be placed inside a small favour bag to reflect your wedding style, and go with the rest of your table decorations on the day.
Gift box
Create an obvious place at your venue for your guests to leave their cards and gifts; large post boxes or wicker baskets can be used, but we especially love this American style mail box!
