Real Wedding - Rebecca and Shaun
WHERE: Seven Mile Beach, Grand Caymen, Caribbean
WHEN: 20th September 2008
PHOTOGRAPHER: Picture This
How they met
Rebecca was working as an estate agent and met Shaun when he was looking for a new house.
The bride's outfit
Rebecca found her stunning dress in New York - the fitted halterneck style was embellished with pretty beads. Because the wedding took place on the beach, Rebecca didn't wear shoes. She wore a bindy on her forehead and a thick diamond bracelet to finish her look.
The grooms outfit
Shaun wore a simple white shirt and beige trousers, perfect for the beautiful beach setting.
The bridesmaids
Rebecca's bridesmaid was the perfect complement in a simple halterneck dress that tied in with Rebecca's. Made from chiffon and in chocolate brown to co-ordinate with the colour scheme.
"The hanging lanterns on the ceremony canopy looked so beautiful - the candles flickered all night long"
The flowers
Rebecca carried a bouquet of green fugys and white Cymbidium orchids. The bridesmaids bouquet contained just green fugys to complement Rebeccas bouquet.
The ceremony
Took place on the beach that was just outside of the hotel. "we married underneath a bamboo canopy with traditional Caymen vows and some personal words of our own. We also performed a send ceremony," says Rebecca.
The reception
A cocktail reception was also held on the beach, with lounge beds, fire pit tables and dinner tables set up for guests. there was also a tent where a local chef had provided a buffet-style dinner and bar. Candles were used to decorate the tables alongside beautiful displays of Dendrobium orchids. "we wanted a natural look, we created it by using green, chocolate brown and white," says Rebecca. The DJ set up on the beach and the sand was the perfect dance floor.
The Cake
Anna Ogden made the two-tier cake, one tier was vanilla rum with coconut and the other was chocolate rum with black forest fruits - it was then decorated with chocolate brown and green icing.
Bride's top tip
"Choose a wedding planning company that you trust. Find a planner that you can relate to and who will take on your vision to make your wedding day everything you have dreamed of and more! I can't recommend Celebrations Ltd enough," explains Rebecca. "Also, the Cayman Islands is the perfect location for a wedding abroad!"
Honeymoon
Rebecca and Shaun took an amazing trip to Japan.
