Wedding guests – things we love about attending the big day!

The Wedding Ideas team became wedding guests last week as our Details Editor Sophie tied the knot!

Always on duty, we were busy spotting Sophie’s best buys throughout the evening. Our favourite five were…

The happy couple, Sophie and Max

1. Change of a dress

From elegant Augusta Jones by day to flirty 50s Kitty and Dulcie by night! Sophie stayed in her floor-length fitted wedding gown for the first dance and then changed into her one-shoulder wonder around 9pm, complete with a cute chignon. We loved her two wedding dress looks – completely different but equally glamorous.

2. Snap happy!

As wedding guests, we love nothing more than capturing our own fun snaps, so our first stop (after the bar, of course) was to the amazing GroovyBooth! Complete with fun hats, glasses and more, we stuck one set of pictures into the guest book and took one set home!

3. Frugle flowers

Sophie loves the vintage look and we applaud her choice of floral decorations. The talented Sabine from glily created urns full of voluminous gypsophila for the reception venue and lit them with tiny tea lights creating an ethereal, dreamy effect.

4. Say cheese

No country wedding reception would be complete without a cheese board and Sophie didn’t disappoint. The perfect way to keep rumbling tums at bay, a quick snack around 9pm meant that we could keep dancing all night!

5. Wow-factor venue

Sophie held her ceremony and reception in the Medieval-style Tithe barn at Haselbury Mill in Somerset. The modern structure has been sympathetically built, reflecting how the original barn would have looked and with ample space for dinner, dancing and relaxing, it was the perfect country wedding venue.

Don’t miss Sophie’s real wedding in the July issue of Wedding Ideas!

About Rachel Morgan

Editor Rachel is Wedding Ideas' big cheese, which is appropriate as she absolutely adores the stuff. When asked what was her favourite, she simply drifted off into a haze of cheddary thoughts. Now that's true love.
