Wedding Dresses and Destination Weddings – Pippa on the Road

Welcome to another fun and busy week full of wedding dresses and finishing with a destination wedding. Perfect! I write this as I sit on a plane – I am currently en route to the sunny island of Rhodes to celebrate the wedding of the lucky winners of our recent ‘Win a Wedding In Rhodes’ competition, which ran in Wedding Ideas magazine. The wedding takes place on Saturday at the beautiful Rhodes Palace Hotel and because Wedding Ideas was one of the sponsors, we have been invited to join them for their celebrations and to find out how they feel to have won such a fabulous prize. I’ve never been to Greece, so I’m really excited!

My week started on Sunday at the London Bridal show, which was based at the Lancaster London hotel – we had a strong presence at the show as one of the leading sponsors. This show saw host to some of the UK’s leading wedding dress manufacturers showing off their new collections. I joined the editor of Wedding Ideas, Rachel Morgan, as she caught up with some of our favourite clients to find out what brides will be wearing next season. Justin Alexander showed off their popular new collection, which was dominated by vintage inspired detailing and beautiful lace fabrics. Then Mark Lesley showed us their gorgeous new line up for the Paradise collection, which included some beautiful back detail and more structured silhouettes. His modern styles and shapes (including some very cute peplum style gowns) will be a big hit with our lovely brides, I’m sure. We also

fell in love with the gorgeous new collection by the gorgeous Diane Harbridge, who showed us through her pretty collection, where you can really find something for every bride. There’s nothing Diane doesn’t know about bridal – she’s GREAT!

After a long day of gowns galore we joined in the evening celebrations at the after party, where we were entertained by the brilliant Sweet Soulful Sound, Dominic bought the room to life with his amazing soulful voice, charisma and huge personality.

The next day we spent the day at the White Gallery, looking through the beautiful designer collections. When you think you have seen every kind of wedding gown, they continue to bring out new designs, shapes and fabrics which ooze quality and style! From dramatic, show-stopping gowns by the fabulous Ian Stuart to simple, sophisticated and stylish shapes by the lovely Stewart Parvin, it was so exciting to see the new gowns presented by these talented British designers. We also had a peek at the brand new collection So Sassi, which offers a touch of designer style at an affordable price tag. In fact, I liked it so much I had to get in one!

As you know, my week has ended on a plane to Greece, I am looking forward to reporting back with details and pictures of the lucky couple. I can’t quite believe that next week will finally see the exciting launch of the brand new www.weddingideasmag.com website, I will be heading down to the office with Champagne in hand to celebrate with the rest of the team. Make sure you log on to have a look and to check out the fantastic offers and competitions on Friday the 1st June.

Happy sunny weekend!

Love Pippa x

About Rachel Morgan

Editor Rachel is Wedding Ideas' big cheese, which is appropriate as she absolutely adores the stuff. When asked what was her favourite, she simply drifted off into a haze of cheddary thoughts. Now that's true love.
