90’s pop sensations the Spice Girls have teamed up with comedy actress Jennifer Saunders to bring a taste of girl power to the west end with their Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever.
Opening this autumn at Piccadilly Theatre in London it’s set to be a popular night out for hen parties looking to spice up their night!
Geri Halliwell said: “We’ve all got children now and I think that’s something else that has united us. Our musical Viva is really about being a mum, children, family, joy and fun – and that’s what we have in common now, being mums.’
The Spice Girls seem to be following the trend of bands and musicians who are writing musicals for the stage. Such as Queen, who brought out We Will Rock You!, ABBA with multimillion smash hit Mama Mia and U2’s Bono and The Edge’s failing rock musical version of Spider–Man: Turn Off the Dark. Will this be a hit or a miss?
How do you feel about the Spice Girls reuniting? Would you want to go to a musical on your hen night?
