A pretty real wedding in Sussex using fresh spring greens
A real wedding in Sussex using fresh spring greens provide the perfect colour palette for this gorgeous couple's day. Jenna and Ollie got married in April 2010…
WHO: Jenna and Ollie
WHERE: Alexander House Hotel, West Sussex
WHEN: April 2010
PHOTOGRAPHER: Gary Roebuck
The proposal
Ollie surprised his girl with a night away to Amberley Castle, where he popped the question. "My suspicions were aroused when we arrived at the hotel, because it was somewhere that I had always wanted to stay, and the perfect location for a proposal," smiles Jenna. "But I wasn't exactly surprised, because my Dad had been pestering Ollie to propose every month for the past three years!" she adds
The bride's outfit
"It was the first dress that I tried on and I loved how tiny it made my waist look and how the skirt swished around me when I walked. I felt like the perfect bride and when I found out the dress was called Jenna, it made it even more perfect," smiles Jenna. The two-piece real wedding dress was from Bustles and Bows and featured intricate crystal and pearl detailing on the bodice
The groom's outfit
Ollie bought his Jeff Banks suit from Debenhams. "He looked extremely handsome and happy, when I saw him standing at the altar," recalls Jenna
The bridesmaids
Jenna's three lucky girls all got to wear head-turning dresses in beautiful bright green. "The strapless dresses by Teatro fitted in perfectly with my fresh spring green themed wedding," explains Jenna
The ceremony
Was a musical affair, with an acoustic guitarist and singer plus two readings, including On Your Wedding Day
The flowers
Zara Flora captured the real wedding theme perfectly with their fresh spring blooms
"When I found out my dream dress was called Jenna it was even more perfect for me!"
The cake
"We ordered a bespoke cake from Choocy Woccy Doo Dah. The cake had a scroll that said 'Mr and Mrs Gibson' made from white chocolate and had spring flowers that matched my bouquet," says Jenna
The entertainment
Was a brilliant band called superchargerband.com who kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. Guests were also entertained with a fantastic photobooth with a brilliant fancy dress box – making for some fabulously fun photos!
The speeches
"My Dad's speech was amazing," recalls Jenna. "He incorporated my photo theme with photos of me over the years. He even used a photo of Radio 1 DJ Greg James giving me a piggy back on my hen do!" laughs Jenna
The honeymoon
"We had a break to Newquay straight after the wedding, but are planning our 'big' honeymoon to fall over our one-year anniversary," says Jenna. "It will also be our 10-year dating anniversary – I can't wait!"
