Profile of Rebecca Doyle – Award Winning Bridal Accessories Designer

Brides LOVE the Chez Bec range of bridal accessories created by Rebecca Doyle.

Her website is an Aladdin’s wedding cave of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, tiaras and hair accessories made with freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and set with sterling silver.  All extremely elegant yet affordable.  Which is probably why Rebecca won The Best Bridal Accessories Category for the second year running at the Wedding Ideas Awards this year.  (Although at first she was a little overcome by the news, as you can see.)

Wedding Ideas had a chat with Rebecca after the Awards ceremony and asked her a few questions.

Q:  Have you always been a jewellery designer?

Not at all.  I was a lawyer for several years but always had a love of jewellery.  My mother was an antique jewellery dealer and I followed her about at shows and fairs, spending my pocket money.  At seven I sold a silver locket I’d bought to a man looking for something for his fiancee.  My first sale!

Q:  How has your business grown since you started in 2006?

I sell more in one month now than I sold in the whole first six months of opening and my website has a strong customer base across the world in the USA, Hong Kong, Dubai, Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Spain, Germany, Malta and Italy.  My first contact with Wedding Ideas magazine was a £60 small advertisement!

Q:  Any advice for others setting up a small business?

Research, research, research.  If you don’t know your target audience you won’t know what they want to buy!

Q:  What does your future hold now?

I hope my business continues to grow from strength to strength.  Dealing with brides every day of my working life is an honour and I wake up every morning raring to start work.  Every year I launch one of two new collections and I love each collection more and more.
